Banned Materials in BattleBots

BattleBots robot fighting is intended to be a fair competition among others. In the field of fighting there are some important factors to use involving BattleBots rules. These rules include details on banned materials in BattleBots. These materials are ones that can either give unfair advantages to fighters or cause hindrances to opposing fighters.

In BattleBots robot fighting the robots are controlled by radio frequencies through controls that the builders have. Essentially these robots are remote controlled by their builders. With this in mind it is essential to have the radio frequencies work for all competitors so that their robots can be properly controlled. As a result any materials that may result in radio jamming are banned from competition.

High voltage discharges cannot come from any of the robots that are competing. These discharges can easily disrupt the mechanisms of the robot that has been attacked by them. For fairness these are prohibited from BattleBots. Any combustible materials like explosives are also banned from BattleBots.

Liquids can easily hurt the robots when they get into contact with them. These materials like not only water but also glue or oil. The materials of a robot can easily be damaged when it gets into contact with these materials. These liquids are all banned from competition.

Projectiles can be used in BattleBots rules, but they must be tethered onto the robot. That means that if the projectile is not tethered it will be illegal and the robot that used it will be eliminated. The untethered item can not only cause more harm but it can be disruptive to the playing surface and make it harder for robots to get around and for arena hazards to work properly. In fact, untethered items can cause harm to spectators as well.

There may be some instances where a competitor may try to use visual obstruction tricks to try and get an advantage. These are all banned from competition. This makes it important to look into the design of the robot to see that there is not anything that can be used to keep people from seeing anything in the fighting arena.

Halon is the last of the materials that have been banned from competition according to BattleBots rules. Halon is a gas that is used in fire extinguishers and can stop internal combustion engines from operating. Although halon is not available in a commercial sense this is not allowed in competition, and any gases that may be similar in content will not be allowed.

These banned materials in BattleBots are all common things to watch for in BattleBots competition. Anyone who is using these will be subject to being kicked out of competition according to BattleBots rules.
